Gervas Kasiga has become the official ZIFF Ambassador in Tanzania.

Gervas Kasiga the owner of Bona Fide Films and Sebuleni blog has been chosen to be the Official Ambassador for the Zanzibar International film Festival which is annual event happening once a year bringing together Film-makers across the world in the beautiful Spice Island of Zanzibar. Gervas will work close with Ziff ensuring the Film and Arts developments in Tanzania.

Dear Film Makers, Stakeholders, Partners and Film Friends,

The International Film Festival Rotterdam will launch its 39th edition 27th - 7th February 2010 and is currently working on a special project dedicated to African films.

It is a well known fact that few African filmmakers and their films are presented on these international films. Furthermore, filmmakers from some African countries have never been invited to present their work for an international audience.

It is against this background that the 39th Edition of International Film Festival Rotterdam has decided to put African filmmakers/artists and their works on an international spotlight.

Tanzania has been chosen among the countries to take part in the project. The German filmmaker Uli Schueppel was selected to shoot a film in August/September in Tanzania which will be coproduced by the Goethe-Institut Tanzania.

MEMORABLE TRIP - NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF RWANDA 2005.

This was during Inter-Universities Art festival held in Butare, Rwanda. I was among few students chosen from Department of Fine and Performing Arts to attend the Festival, and It was within my second year of University studies.

MAISHA FILM LAB FOR SCREENWRITERS - ZANZIBAR, TANZANIA

I participated in this lab and through the workshop I have been able to finish my screenplay 'Bakari kilaza' and Zanzibar environment inspired me to write a script titled 'Distress in Zanzibar' which I'm still working on it.
